My Titi Ultra 100km (16-17 March 2019)

Image
What’s the idea of running the 100 km category road race in Titi Ultra 2019? The course itself is almost 2.5 times of distance for Full Marathon (42.195 km) and 5 times for Half, and this doesn’t account for the elevation changes encountered along the uphill and downhill road. To get things serious, there is a cut-off time allotted at each checkpoint (CP) to assure that all runners are able to complete their race within permitted duration. The Course Record 100km Race Elevation Chart A-Z Preparation for 100km The 100 km category started at 4pm. Everyone on the road were greeted with full blast of sun and devastating temperature on the Saturday afternoon. After the first kilometer mark, my buddy overtook and no longer be seen. From 4pm to 7pm, the runners had to endure the extreme heat along the undulating winding road, while patiently walk and jog toward the CP1 and CP2. Things were starting to pick up at dark after overcoming all the negativities when the sun goes d

Bali - Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Image
Yo Bali. After Tanah Lot, our next temple visit is Ulun Danu Beratan Temple! You might feel familiar with outlook of this temple since this is one of the icon of Bali. Many might choose not to visit to this temple due to its distance from Bali city centre.  Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a water temple located on the shore of Lake Bratan. The temple is surrounded by mountains near Bedugul. Due to its location, weather is so cold that made people confused they are actually in Bali!  Entrance fee: Rp. 50,000 for adult. Visit tips: Bring along your jacket or scarf, weather is quite unpredictable. It was raining suddenly during our visit, for a short while and temperature dropped in sudden.  The temple was built for offerings ceremony to Balinese water, lake and river gods. Information from Wikipedia: The 11-storey pelinggih meru is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvathi. There is boat-riding service here, for you to have a tour on the lake. It was after rain

Bali - Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot, one of the must-go place at Bali.  Tanah Lot means Land in the Sea in Balinese language. There is a temple on the land of rock formation, on the sea. Being surrounded by temples, for us, this is a sacred place.  On the way to Tanah Lot, we passed by locals' houses and border-less paddy field. Then, we arrived at the temple by the sea. Quite amazing, surrounded by paddy field and the next moment we are facing the sea!  Welcome to Tanah Lot! Entrance fee of Tanah Lot: Adult : Rp. 60,000. Child: Rp. 30,000. Parking fee: Motorcycle : Rp. 3,000. Car : Rp.: 5,000. Bus : Rp. 10,000. Being greeted by great weather :) There are few surfer spotted in the middle of the sea! You are allowed to walk down to the other side which is much closer to the sea. There are a big crowd of people queuing outside a shrine, praying. The weather is quite good during our visit, we were there around 10am. This is an open area so do remember to bring

Hello Bali. Today we are going to do an activity that it is so hot at Instagram recently LOL! Bali Swing!!! It is basically a giant swing that being tied on a tall tree so that when you swing, you get to fly very high and overlooking some breathtaking view like rice terrace, jungle and even sea view, depends on location of your swing :P There are quite a number of Bali Swing at Bali, we ended up went to Uma Pakel Bali Swing recommended by our driver. You can choose to experience the Bali Swing by paying around Rm60 for 8 swings in 2 different direction (looking forward and looking backward). So basically you will get to have photos of “swinging in the air” in 2 directions LOL. For those that don’t feel like trying on Bali Swing, you can choose to have the free coffee & tea tasting session. Luwak coffee is not in the list of coffee tasting, thus we paid to try on it. Coffee & tea tasting. One row of coffee and one row of tea for tasting. Of cour

Selamat datang ke Bali!!!! Finally we stepped our foot on Bali this round! Been to Bromo before this and it is so close to Bali but we didn’t get to visit to Bali during that time. For this round, we would be spending 5days 4nights at Bali with family and kid, quite a big challenge >.< Transport – With Air Asia, now everyone can fly :P We chose to fly from KLIA 2 to Bali Denpasar International Airport. Moving around in Bali is not that easy, since the traffic is quite bad and annoying. A short journey might need to spend longer time than expected…we noticed that some tourists rented a motorbike and travel around, this is the way that I would recommend if you are solo traveler or in small group. With family and kid, we chose to rent a 7-seater MPV. Airport transfer: IDR 200,000 to Kuta area ; around IDR 250,000 to Seminyak area. 8-hour rental per day: IDR 900,000 with driver. Overtime charges is applicable if more than 8hours. Stay – Famous area to stay is

Lopburi - Khao Jean Lae Sunflower Farm

Morning Bangkok! Today we wake up early for the flower-mission :P after light breakfast at House 23 Guesthouse , we departed to Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumpong). We are heading to Lopburi! After so many rounds of Bangkok trip, finally this time we managed to sneak some time for sunflower field at Lopburi!!!! Train trip is always the best choice :) Ticket fee: 374Baht per person. Once we arrived at Hua Lumpong, we bought ticket to Lopburi which depart soonest. Too bad that the normal train just departed so we had to take the express train (much more expensive T.T). The coach is clean, number seated and with air conditioner (too cold for us LOL). Out of expectation, food is served! Made us felt warm with a cup of hot coffee and a puff. After around 2 hours, we reached Lopburi Train Station. There are still a lot of passengers in the train, since the train is going north, many of them are heading to Chiang Mai from Bangkok via train! Can consider ne

Bangkok - House 23 Guesthouse

Sawadeekap~ We had been to Bangkok few times, we always chose to stay at different hotel or guest house. This round, we found a hidden gem in Bangkok that had been listed in one of our top favourite hotel! Taa-daa!!! House 23 Guesthouse near Sukhumvit!! Despite the strategic location which is within walking distance to public transport like Sukhumvit MRT and Asok BTS station, the surrounding area is not crowded and ideal for a leisure holiday! :P You would have to walk through a lovely small garden before entering into the main door. Love the interior design of this guesthouse, everything is simple yet cozy. The general area :) The kitchen :) Simple breakfast is included in the room rate, so we get to served ourselves here throughout our 2-day stay. Next is the room!!! This is the main thing that makes us fall in love with this guesthouse! There are only 4 rooms in this guesthouse! We stayed in stripe room, and there is also polka dot room and houndst
