Wednesday's Anchovies

Last week, I was at Langkawi on an impromptu solo travel. Below is the summary of my three days two nights’ trip at the island. Day 3 at Pangkor and today is the last day here too. Holiday ends too soon before we realized it. Having breakfast at SPK for the very last time before we left this peaceful island. We loved local food here! Tried their home-made noodles cooked in clear soup with fish! Super fresh! Loved breakfast served over here! Recommended! After breakfast, we drove the car and parked it near Pangkor Jetty, left the car key inside and left. The uncle who rented us the car told us to do so since he was not around, felt so secured, again! Then we travelled back to Lumut, collect our car and headed to Sitiawan. What to do at Setiawan? Hunt for famous local food! Here it is, Sitiawan Cheong Cia Gong Pian ( 实宨远曾家福州光饼 )! Never thought that we need to queue for this Gong Pian! They baked the biscuits inside this “stove” and once the biscuits are ready, they sold out in minutes! Morning Pangkor! Wake up in small rain and the rain stopped after our breakfast! Lucky us! Started our journey exploring Pangkor Island with our rented Proton Saga! The pink van! In case you don't feel like driving yourself, you can always look for the pink van to fetch you to your destination! The pink van is just like a taxi and it can be found almost everywhere on the island! Mural on the wall in SPK town. So creative! Road in Pangkor is just simple and straight forward. It should be very hard to get lost on this island if you followed the proper road :P From SPK, we followed the main road, passed by a garbage furnace and reached Pantai Teluk Dalam which located next to Pangkor Island Airport! Yes, there is a small airport here! The beach is calm and less crowded compared to Pantai Pasir Bogak. Perfect spot for picnic! From Kuala Lumpur to Lumut Jetty, we chose to use the old road (non-highway) and stopped by Pasir Penambang for a short while for breakfast. We had breakfast at Nan Yuan Kopitiam ( 南源 ) after reading some reviews from the net. Our breakfast of the day! Half-boiled kampung eggs, roasted bread with homemade kaya and kopi kaw! The shop owner is quite talkative and he is very kind in introducing the food served in his shop. After breakfast we continued our journey to the north and reached Sekinchan! We spent some time having some shoots with the green paddy field which looked like fake one lol. One last jump shoot before we left the paddy field! Good one!  After around 2hours of drive, we reached Lumut Ferry Terminal! There is a 3 or 4-storey undercover car park within walking distance to the ferry terminal. Parking rate is RM0.60 per hour. Kick start of our Pangkor Island 3D2N trip! Visited Pangkor Island during Hari Haji long weekend break, thanks to public holiday! Out of expectation, the island is not crowded during this long weekend, maybe because of the raining season. We had fun eating, playing, lazy-ing and relax our mind during these 3 days at Pangkor Island. Total expenses per person is less than RM300!
