Men's Health Women's Health Night Run 2015

Image
21st of March, my first competitive run in year 2015 - Men’s Health Women’s Health Night Run. It comprised of two race routes, 5 km and 12 km. The race was held at the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya. It has attracted a good 7500 participants and this is the first run brought by the Men’s Health and Women’s Health Malaysia, after Shape magazine has put its own version of Shape Night Run in coming April. It was raining heavily during the journey from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya and stopped the time we reached the car parking area. The breeze was comforting and everyone is gearing up around the vehicle. The 12 km category flagged off at 8pm. The car parking area. The running vest (His and Her). I completed the course earlier than expected, 1 hour 18 minutes. This was my third night run at Putrajaya and the route has never failed to amaze me, offering astonishing bright lit bridge, wide course without traffic, unique building structures and impressive by-the-lake running...

Pisang Waterfall

Image
After the last relaxing trekking at Setia Alam in February, we were heading for Pisang Waterfall this time. It is located at Jungle Lodge Alang Sedayu, Gombak and it took us about 45 minutes driving from Sungai Buloh. The parking fee is RM5 and the head charge is RM1 per person. We started trekking at 845am and reached the waterfall around 10am. The spot is crowded with visitors on the Saturday morning. Besides the abseiling activity happening at the near-vertical fall, a group of avid photographers were spotted with the posing models at the main fall. We took some snacks and drinks while taking the turn to get into the water. From the car park, we walked straight until we noticed this shelter. Cross this river and followed the stream. After that, we noticed that we are actually just underneath Karak Highway! Followed the stream and we found 2 big tunnels!  Walked across the tunnel! This photo shown how big the tunnel is... Looked like an...

Setia Alam Trail - tips and guides

Image
The first Tuesday of February 2015, it was the Public Holiday for Thaipusam. I had planned for my first hike at Setia Alam, realising the traffic at KL and parts of area in Selangor going to be terrible with people flocking to Batu Caves for celebration. As early as 730am, we reached the hiking spot after meeting up with Wewen from Klang. We started at trail point A. The gathering point is a huge piece of empty land with some construction planning on the go. The aim for today is the Peak Garden and we took approx. 1 hour to reach the destination. Although the peak stands at 240m and certainly not as tall as the previous hills taken, it was good with high winds and sceneries worth-the-adventure. Be surprised that you can view the KL Twin Towers from here. We parked our car next to this water tank. The starting point. Source:  Setia Alam Trail View from the peak garden. Construction going on.. The peak garden! Here looked more like a farm! ...
