Bangkok December Trip (Day 3 & 4)
Day
3, we’ve tasted the Bangkok’s most famous Kaiton Pratunam chicken rice as
breakfast today. The smooth Thai rice is the nicest I’ve ever had in Bangkok.
After that, we walked to the nearest Chit Lom BTS station and started our
journey to Chatuchak market. It is one of the must visit in Bangkok. The market
is so huge that one could have easily lost in the small rows of shoplots while
walking from one alley to another. We were lucky to have the last few pieces of
map in hand before the Chatuchak entrance.

The
market has everything that you can name of and some of them are offered at the
lowest price as well. In addition, the coconut ice-cream is a must-try food in
Chatuchak. They are simply enticing, making you want to try out every
combination of toppings.
Finally
the shopping is over at Chatuchak. We headed to Union mall next. According to
travel source, this mall is frequented by the locals and its pricing is cheaper
than those malls in city centre. After one hour spent in the Union mall, all
members decided to go back to hotel while my brother and I went for a walk down at
the National Stadium BTS. There were number of sports outlets spotted on the
main street and some small shops can be found in the little road on the left. I
got a running pant at the end.
Tuk-tuk time at Night
During
dinner, we were in the Central Chidlom Food Loft where it is about 5 minute
walking from Chit Lom BTS station. There was a little surprise moment for my
uncle as we celebrated his birthday during the meal. Thanks to the staffs in
the food loft for singing the Birthday song together with us and to all the
diners for listening that night (though we got a fine of 200 baht for
bringing in outside food).
Time
flies, the forth day was the last day for us in Bangkok. In the morning, my
parents and aunties enjoyed their last hours of shopping nearby the Pratunam
area. On the other hand, my uncle and I have witnessed the riot happening right
in front of the hotel. The crowd of protesters was huge but everyone did their
best not to disturbing others, especially to visitors and business owners. The street
calmed at 1230pm and we were glad to reach the airport safely.
Day
4, we had the Chinese Winter Solstice festival in Bangkok. Tangyuan bought at Pratunam.

We
ended the four day three night fun in Thailand finally. It was great and
everyone starting to looking for the next year travelling, well at least that
is one of the many objectives that all of us are working towards to for the new
year.
