MPIB 2014 Race Report
What’s better than kicking start a new year of 2014
with a jog on the Sunday morning. This year, the MPIB run has returned as usual
for the third consecutive year. As the very first running event of the year in
Malaysia, it sure means a lot of excitement and anticipation to the local
runners and the organizers, as well.

The Race Kit
5th January 2014, it was 7 in the
morning. The race for 12km Men category A, B and C finally starts. Whilst the 12km
Women category D, E and F started 10 minutes later at 0710.
We were greeted by a small slope of road right when
the race started. Next, I found myself running beside the Mahameru Highway,
before making a left turn into the Bukit Tunku area.

Most parts of the Bukit Tunku area are hilly but we
were blessed to have them covered with huge trees along the way providing shade.
Besides, the descending route is more than ascending. This makes way for easier
and faster striding. In addition, the fresh air and cool breeze in the morning were
nice. Great thanks I would love to dedicate to all the volunteers stationed in
every water station. The isotonic drinks and water supply were always in time
for the runners.
At the end, I was glad to complete the race in 1
hour and 20 minutes. There were lots of food waiting at the finishing area. Banana, bread, cereal milk, mamee instant noodles and iced Milo were perfect for a
post-race breakfast. After grabbing some photos at the finishing line, we
called it a day at 930am.
