Bangkok - Taxi Tips, Airbnb Apartment & MCD

Image
Sawadekap~ We touched down safely at DMK airport, Bangkok after around 2hours of flight. After collect our luggage, we started looking for taxi to go to our rented apartment. DMK airport, Bangkok Thailand. There are few taxi counters at the airport, try to compare the price and bargain for the best price. The rate depends on the location and don’t forget to ask about gasoline and toll charges! The best price we got is 1000baht for a Toyota mini van which can fit 7 adults 1 baby and all our luggages. Our driver asked us to pay for the toll, which is about 170baht (in total) few minutes after departing from the airport. Then only we realized toll is not included and toll in Bangkok is far more expensive than Malaysia!  Anyway, we are willing to pay for the toll since the traffic condition is really different with toll and without toll. Bangkok’s traffic is worse than KL, I would say! The very old-school toll ticket! Tips: Compare the price and try t...

Bukit Kutu

Image
Since the last Apek Hill hiking, I am going for Bukit Kutu after 2 months. It is situated near to Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) at Hulu Selangor, where you will pass through Selangor Dam during the way to Fraser Hill. It took us approximately 2 hours driving journey from KL. The trekking at KKB has gained its popularity due to the popular Lata Medang waterfall and Bukit Kutu. As it is fasting month, only threes cars were spotted at the car parking area on the Saturday morning.  At 830 am, we started to ascend. First part of trek was an easy flat route, before entering the bamboo forest. Along the route, falling bamboos were scattered around and we have to bend down most times with stems overhead. We grabbed some rest at Checkpoint 5 (C5) before heading up again. Early trail. Bamboos overhead. Scorpion vs giant millipede. We reached Bukit Kutu peak at 12pm, standing tall at 3456 feet above ground. Taking three more ladders, our sights are c...
