Singapore - Botanic Gardens
Morning Singapore!
Today is a garden day for us since we are going to Singapore Botanic Gardens in the morning and Gardens by the Bay in the evening! Haha, after busy playing around in the real bush, we are being amazed by the man-made garden at night!
Anyway, today's main character is Singapore Botanic Garden!
How to get there:
By MRT Downtown Line or Circle Line, exit at Botanic Garden Station.
Once you exit the station, main entrance of the garden is just in front of you :)
Spotted a time capsule which was sealed on Boxing day 2015 to commemorate the opening of Downtown MRT Line 2. So meaningful!
The best thing is... no entrance fee required for the botanic garden! For Orchid Garden, charges applied but is totally worth it!
The garden is very much larger than expected! Lots of garden with different themes inside and the track is spacious enough for jogging, cycling and even skating!
The mini stage surrounded by a pond!
There is lily pad on the pond! It was my first time to see such a big lily pad in my life!
Wowed by the view! Although the lily pad is not big enough for a person to sit on top of it, it is still very much bigger than normal lily pad we saw on the river!
We enjoyed walking around the garden, thanks to good weather :)
Love this pathway which is decorated with small yellow flower! By the way, you can take lots of Instagram-worthy photos here LOL :P
After that, we visited the National Orchid Garden. You can get the entrance ticket at the entrance of the orchid garden.
We are once again being amazed by presentation of flora here!
Love the colours!
Visited the Celebrity Garden where orchids here are being named after some celebrities!
This white colour orchid is named after Stefanie Sun, the famous singer from Singapore, on the occasion of her visit to Singapore Garden Festival 2006!
Taken in the Cold room. Have a great chilled time in the cold room after walking few kilometres under warm sun..
Looked like fairyland!
This visit changed my perception in orchid, it can be so lively and yet attractive with different vivid colours!
Haha, gonna end this Botanic Garden post with food! We grabbed some food at a cafe next to the garden, closed to MRT exit.
Cannot really remember the cafe's name but here is the photo :P
The food is nice! Loved the creamy mushroom soup and the thin crust salmon pizza!
