The 2016 edition of Great Eastern Genting King of the Mountain was held on 20 th August 2016. Horses crossing ahead. Registration entrance in the morning. NKY and I signed this up for the first time, at Genting Highlands. With first-tier ticket at RM 99 per person, each participant is guaranteed of 10 km distance running with 15 obstacles, a finisher medal, t-shirt and wonderful story to brag of about taking on the mountain. The organizers also offered a number of hotel packages to all participants, bundled with two (2) Viper Challenge entry tickets. Last week, I was at Langkawi on an impromptu solo travel. Below is the summary of my three days two nights’ trip at the island. Hooyeah!!! We survived in the rain and when the rain stopped, we ride further down and finally spotted the junction to Wind Cave. Yes, you would arrived at Wind Cave first, followed by Fairy Cave if you are from Kuching. The main entrance. So said hello to Wind Cave first! Torchlight is required here since it is total dark in the cave. Torchlight is available for rent at the ticket counter. A proper trekking shoes with good gripping would be a good choice since it is quite slippery in the cave, especially after rain! There are totally 3 passages in the cave, and we go for passage number 1, which is around 320metres and around 25minutes. If you are in passage number 1, you covered majority of the cave attractions like fruit bat, sink hole, stalagmite and stalactite, cave view and etc. The general map. Passage no. 1! Bau, a small town around 1 hour drive from Kuching. From Kuching, we travelled to Bau and stopped by Tasik Biru as well as Pekan Bau for lunch while we are on the way to Wind Cave & Fairy Cave. Bau was used to be a gold mining town in Sarawak. Never heard about this small town?? Well, Bau is Malaysia famous diving athlete, Pandelela Rinong's hometown!  We travelled to Bau using the rented motorbike. One good thing travelling using motorbike is it is so easy to stop anywhere you like :P Ok, provided that it is safe :) At a random stop while on the way to Bau. Three years after my first full distance marathon at Penang Bridge , I made a comeback for the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon 2016 (SCKLM). This year, with the new cut-off time being extended to 7 hours for FM category, it is guaranteed to be more participations and fun. It was not an usual Sunday morning, I had to wake up at 1.30 a.m. and drove to Kelana Jaya LRT station. Boarding the LRT was a wise choice, you can save up the time looking for limited car park at nearby Dataran Merdeka. The train also stops lesser along the journey and believe me, you will be right into the running mood with bunch of avid runners riding the midnight marathon train!!
