Beijing - Jiugulou Street(旧鼓楼大街), Drum & Bell Towers(鼓楼,钟楼), WangfuJing Walking Street(王府井步行街) & Haidilao(海底捞)

Image
We reached our Airbnb homestay at Beijing in Thursday morning. The owner only allowed us to store our luggage in the house as there were still occupants staying in it. It was a brisk morning and we decided to take a stroll on the Jiugulou  (旧鼓楼大街) Main Street. We passed by a number of big Chinese restaurants, McDonald’s, cafes, hotel inns and also discovered branches of hutong  ( 胡同) on both sides of street. Only in China, McDonald! Unique cozy cafe. Bumped into few persimmon trees, excited like a kampung boy ...since we can't find this in Malaysia LOL. We were greeted with Drum and Bell Towers  (鼓楼,钟楼) after taking a left turn at the end of Jiugulou Street. There were two groups of locals kicking shuttlecock in a vast area between the two towers. They were definitely good in the sport and I was crazed of how a Chinese lady performing her classy back heel kicks for several times in a row. Nice weather we have, cold and breezy. Drum...

Singapore - Gardens by the Bay

Image
Gardens by the bay is one of the newly added must-visit-place when you are at Singapore. Actually I am quite impressed with Singapore where they made their country into a city with high rise buildings but at the same time maintained their personality of a tropical country with all the parks and gardens!  OK, before I was there, I thought that Gardens by the bay is just a man-made park with some weird creatures which made the place looked like scenes in Avatar. However, when I was there, I was totally wowed by the park! Well, it is not just a park, it is a very well-planned development I would say, the layout, the design and most importantly, the environment! There are a lots of real plant around the park, pond with fishes and tortoises, and also jogging track! We didn’t get to visit the breathtaking Flower Dome as well as Forest Cloud this time, the park is very much bigger than expected, so do spare more time here for a leisure stroll. From Marina Bay, we walked to Ga...

Singapore - Botanic Gardens

Image
Morning Singapore! Today is a garden day for us since we are going to Singapore Botanic Gardens in the morning and Gardens by the Bay in the evening! Haha, after busy playing around in the real bush, we are being amazed by the man-made garden at night! Anyway, today's main character is Singapore Botanic Garden! How to get there:  By MRT Downtown Line or Circle Line, exit at Botanic Garden Station.   Once you exit the station, main entrance of the garden is just in front of you :) Spotted a time capsule which was sealed on Boxing day 2015 to commemorate the opening of Downtown MRT Line 2. So meaningful! The best thing is... no entrance fee required for the botanic garden! For Orchid Garden, charges applied but is totally worth it! The garden is very much larger than expected! Lots of garden with different themes inside and the track is spacious enough for jogging, cycling and even skating! The mini stage surrounded by a pond!  ...
