Hahaha, the title told the whole story :P We want for a leisure trip and thus we chose Nong Khiaw and give up the most famous and must-go KwangSi Waterfall :P We keep it for our next visit, we shall meet soon :P There are still quite a lot of stuff to explore at Luang Prabang :) 1. Phou si Hill Phou si hill, located in the city centre, just next to the night market and Wat Mai. A 15-minute walk brought us to the peak with fantastic view over the whole Luang Prabang city as well as Mekong River! Don’t be scared with the “hill” since the path is well-managed and with proper staircase, not too difficult to go up. Entrance fee: 20,000 kip per person. Sa-bai-dee :) We would like to share some tips about travelling to Luang Prabang, Laos based on our own experience :) No.1 Kip Laos is using “kip”, but Thai Baht is commonly being accepted here as well. For Malaysian, you can bring along Thai Baht or USD and exchange at money changer in Laos. The rate we got is 1 USD for 8300 kip and 1 Baht for 246 kip. Based on our experience, expenses in Laos would be higher than in Thailand, based on price of food and snack. No.2 Convenient store There is no 7-eleven at Luang Prabang!!!!!! We not sure whether 7-eleven exists at Vientiane or not, but we cannot find any at Luang Prabang! There are only mini stores around the town and we spotted few pharmacies. Good thing is basic things like drinking water can be purchased easily from the mini stores (5,000kip for 1.5litres). Bad thing is there is very limited choice for snack like biscuit or bread from the mini stores and the price is not cheap at all. Most of the biscuits ...

ສະບາຍດີ Sa-bai-dee :) Selamat Hari Raya! Thanks to Raya holidays, and thanks to Air Asia, our last minute decision to fly over Luang Prabang, Laos could be achieved!!! Now everyone can fly LOL. We flied to Luang Prabang and decided to explore Nong Khiaw as well which is around 4hrs bus ride from Luang Prabang. This is our very first time to step on land of Laos, so excited to explore Laos and get confused with Kip, hahaha. “Kip” is the official currency in Laos, but Thai Baht is commonly being accepted by the locals as well. However, based on our experience, it is more worth to spend using Kip instead of Baht. You can choose to bring along US D or Thai Baht and exchange for Kip at Laos. There is money changer service at Luang Prabang Airport, but we noticed that the rate is slightly higher than those money changers available in town. February 2017, I returned to the Land of the Philippines. With the same purpose, this time I am spending my six weeks working stay at Balanga city. Way to Fortune Island Genesis Bus Terminal Bataan In my forth week of stay, I had a chance to go out of the province and visited Fortune Island in Nasugbu, Batangas. Thanks to invitation from Belle, a friend met during our Mount Pinatubo hiking trip three years back. We arrived at Buendia bus terminal at 0300 on Saturday. There was a total of seven of us, Arvee, Rachel, Ri, Cindy, Ruth, Belle and I. As there is no clean water supply and electricity provided in island, each of us grabbed a 4L of Absolute drinking water at 7-Eleven before leaving for Nasugbu. When it comes to the most popular weekend getaway in Bataan, a visit to Mount Samat is a must. Commuting from Balanga city, one can hop on the jeepney heading to Bagac at Balanga terminal and simply tell the driver “Mount Samat”. In 20 minutes’ time, you will be at the jumpoff point. This is the third time I participated in an international marathon. Chombueng Marathon, we came across this event from a group of avid Thai runners on the trip to River Kwai Int. Half Marathon in 2015. 15 January 2017, I completed my first overseas 42.195km in the Chombueng Marathon happening at Ratchaburi province. It was the coolest event I’ve ever been to, with its chilly temperature at ground surrounded with mountains. Bib collection at Rajabhat University Chom Bueng The race itself is a long wait after all. The registration took place four months prior to the event. This year the Full Marathon runners were selected through balloting. Our recent Thailand trip was really a budget one and thus we came out with one street food challenge. Hehe, have been to Thailand for few times but we hardly dine beside the street, the most is having those street food like moo-ping or crepe, but this time we are targeting our 3 main meals of the day! Ratchaburi – Dine beside the street challenge! Egg-wrapped Phad Tai beside the river! Prepared with heart by the uncle, at Ratchaburi Night Market :) Very Chinese style breakfast, soy milk and Chinese fried churros~ Coffee and unknown tea plus rice served with minced pork as breakfast. All the beverage menu is in Thai language and we actually order by pointing others’ food LOL. Noodles soup under Chulalongkorn Bridge and train station.
