Port Dickson - Tanjung Tuan Beach Hiking

Looking for a short getaway from the hustle and bustle life of Kuala Lumpur?
You must not miss this: Tanjung Tuan Beach Hiking.

Information Tips: Tanjung Tuan Recreational Park is located at Port Dickson. One can easily find the place entrance by following the signboard of Cape Rachado Lighthouse from Teluk Kemang. The overall journey from KL city centre to the destination takes approximately 1 hour 20 minute. The charges per trip from Sg Besi toll plaza to Port Dickson Exit (North South Highway – Johor Bharu Bound) costs Rm7.70.

We reached the Tanjung Tuan entrance at 8.30am and got some quick shot of the overall park map. To get to the lighthouse, one can take the normal route by a short walk on the tar road for 20 minutes.

However if you are planning on a different way of discovering Tanjung Tuan, there are few spots on the map which you can mark down and cover them before the Lighthouse.

The park map.

After about 10 minutes on the tar road, there is a junction leading to 2 beach spots in Tanjuang Tuan, where they would rather know as Pulau Masjid and Pulau Intan. The trek is fairly easy and many of them are provided with staircases and handle.

The first signboard with nothing on it. Left to Pulau Masjid beach viewpoint, right to continue the trek to Pulau Intan (*Note: after Pulau Masjid, you will have to return to this signboard and go opposite way to continue the trek)

Snaps of Pulau Masjid.

After returning from Pulau Masjid, you will be faced with three different paths. Take the route on your left and hike your way until the resting point. This will take approximately 20 minutes.

The second signboard came in time. Let’s figure it out again.
Left to Pulau Intan, right to Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse

Pulau Intan in low tide. You can go to the other side of tranquil beachside.

 The Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse

After covering all the spots above, you can choose to do trekking at Batu Putih which is 400 meter up and down hike from the Lighthouse. This time, the signboard can be easily found at your left side walking down the tar road from the Lighthouse. The view from up here was good and it is too good to be missed by anyone.

Swim 38km and you will land in Sumatra. Believe me.

The trek took us about 3 hour for completion. It sure is a good one for those who enjoyed a leisure hike with friends/ family during the boring weekend and public holidays.

Finally some pics taken in Nando’s Nilai for lunch, a good portion for all.

Taken at 1230pm
