Kuala Sepetang - Top 5 things to do!

In conjunction with visit Malaysia year 2014, let’s talk about cuti-cuti Malaysia at Kuala Sepetang. Ever heard of this place? This is a small town previously known as Port Weld, located 18km away from Taiping. It is a small historical town famous with seafood, mangrove forest, charcoal and etc.

Things to do at Kuala Sepetang?

1. Matang Mangrove Forest Eco Education Centre

This is a place where you can sit along the river, enjoying the breeze when being surrounded by mangrove forest. If you are lucky you may spot eagles flying above your head and monitor lizards swimming in the river. Monkeys are everywhere over there! Be extra careful since some monkeys like to attack tourists.

2. Fort Ngah Ibrahim Historical Complex

This is the first time in my life paying a visit to a museum! It was quite fun anywhere. Free admission and there are lots of display for your to camwhore everywhere.

3. Footbridge

Walking around the town, it is not hard for you to notice this bridge since the town is small lol. It is located opposite the Port Weld Railway Signboard. From the bridge, one can overview the most original fishing village built along the river.

4. Salted fish

Who don’t like salted fish? Haha, claypot rice without salted fish is not complete!!! At Kuala Sepetang, salted fish is everywhere! Haha, some more the fish is big!! Rows and rows of salted fish are placed under the sun just beside the road.

5.  Factory tour

Kuala Sepetang is famous with products like dried shrimp, cockle, incense and charcoal. There is traditional charcoal kilns open for public. Too bad that we didn’t get to visit the place but it sure is a place worth to spend time with!

Kuala Sepetang is a nice getaway choice, away from the buster city life. A place that brings you experience of humbled, contented and simple life.
