Sepang Merdeka Awareness Run 2014 Race Report

In conjunction with Hari Merdeka 2014, JKKK of Sungai Pelek and Sepang Methodist Church had organized Sepang Merdeka Awareness Run. The event was held on 23rd of August 2014 with aim of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle in daily lives. The race covered a 4.5km route running on my beautiful homeland named after Sungai Pelek.

On the actual race day, all participants gathered at SJK(C) Wah Lian at 7am. The scale of this event is small as it was mainly supported by the locals. The participants were briefed on the race route and some safety precautions before the race. Kids category kicked start the run, followed by the public category.

I finished the run with a timing of 28 minutes. There were free flow of 100 plus drinks and mineral water back at the finishing area. After collecting my finisher certificate, I chatted with my secondary friends who joined the event as well. It’s a good opportunity to catch up with each other. There was lucky draw after the prize giving ceremony. My family were lucky to have grabbed a food hamper home. It’s a fruitful Saturday indeed.
