Bangkok - Safari World

Image
Click HERE for our full itinerary. Animal lovers, raise your hands up! During our last family trip to Bangkok, we allocate some time to pay a visit to Safari World Bangkok. At first we just thought that this is just a normal zoo where kids get happy to see all the animals in flash cards or books turned alive, nothing else special. THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG!!! At the entrance. Area of Safari World is around 800,000 square meter (info from internet) which consists of Safari Park and Marine Park. This is the biggest open-air zoo in Asia! We had so much fun over there! I think adults enjoyed the session more than kids LOL :P If you think Safari World is just a normal zoo, you are WRONG! First of all, the entrance ticket is not cheap at all! For adult, we paid 1200Baht for Safari Park and Marine Park package per person. Then another 30Baht per person for Safari couch tour. We didn’t go for River Safari which is another 350Baht more. Other than some ...

34th River Kwai International Half Marathon (Year 2015)

Image
At last, I am at the venue of the 34th edition of River Kwai International Half Marathon 2015, River Kwai Village Hotel. After an approximate 6 hours train ride from Bangkok and 20 mins motorbike riding from our Star Hill River Kwai hotel, we reached safely at the venue at 520am. It was raining on the Sunday morning and we felt uncomfortable with the wetness in body, but this doesn’t wash away the spirit of running on one of the most scenic route in Thailand. Taiping - A Visit to Taiping 2015

Image
Taiping, a small town located in Northern Perak, Malaysia. Based on wikipedia, it is also the wettest town in Peninsular Malaysia which has led to a picturesque view of flora and raintrees in the Taiping Lake Gardens. As this was my visit to Taiping, we spent around 4 hours leisure driving from KL. Navigating places in the area was easy with Google Maps. Travel We headed to Maxwell Hill first and found that we missed the last ride going up the peak. From the driver, the last ride is at 530pm and the journey took around 30 minutes. At bottom of Maxwell Hill  Second stop at Taiping Lake Garden. We spent around 3 hours loitering around the area. The row of century-old trees standing by lakeside made up a photogenic scene. We saw the locals jogging around lake, couples making their pre-wedding shoots, families taking swan boat ride, it was surely an absolute experience for everyone. Image
Click HERE for full itinerary. Srinakarin Train Market or more commonly being known as Talat Rot Fai is quite a popular night market in Bangkok. It situated quite some distance from the city centre where we spent around 45minutes in the taxi in order to reach here, thanks to the super heavy traffic! Despite its location, there are still a lot of people here! I believe it is not only famous among tourists, but locals as well! Talat Rot Fai is well-known with its vintage side as well as the warm environment! There are many bars with live band performance along the streets! So after shopping and street food hunting in the night market, what’s other thing is better than having beer in a cozy bar with nice music around? The easiest way to reach Talat Rot Fai is by taxi! Just in case your taxi driver don't understand the place you referred to, you may ask them to send you to Seacon Square, which situated just next to the night market. Seacon Square, which is ne...
