Taiping - A Visit to Taiping 2015
Taiping, a small town located in Northern Perak,
Malaysia. Based on wikipedia, it is also the wettest town in Peninsular
Malaysia which has led to a picturesque view of flora and raintrees in the
Taiping Lake Gardens. As this was my visit to Taiping, we spent around 4 hours
leisure driving from KL. Navigating places in the area was easy with Google
Maps.
Travel
We headed to Maxwell Hill first and found that we missed the last ride going up the peak. From the driver, the last ride is at 530pm and the journey took around 30 minutes.

Food
After collecting the race pack for the Taiping Cross Country 2015, we headed to Larut Matang Hawker Centre for lunch. The place was so big that we have no idea which food stalls to go for at the first sight. We tried the famous char kuey tiaw, chicken feet, three meat platter in the afternoon. We had returned to the same spot on the next day to continue hunting for food. The naturally-ventilated environment, great food that is worth every cent and its humble people in town made up a pleasing dining experience during my two days in Taiping.
I love Taiping Food #1 Char Kuey Tiaw
We went to Mr. BBQ for dinner as the restaurant is known for its decent ikan bakar (grilled fish) in town. However it took us more than 30 minutes waiting to get all the food served and some of them were already cold by the time. Would explore for other restaurant instead next time.
Dinner at Mr. BBQ
We’ve very much enjoyed our 2D1N at Taiping. A lovely small town with much to offer, this is another place worth to visit again in near future.
