Siem Reap - 7 Things to Do at Siem Reap Town

After spending 3 days at Angkor Archaeological Park, we decided to just loiter around Siem Reap town on our last day before we fly back to Malaysia.

Click here for DAY 1, DAY 2 & Day 3.

Wonder what to do at Siem Reap besides temple hopping? We had fun explored around the town and felt that this is a good way to get to know daily life of locals.

We summarized our exploration around the town :P

Things to do at Siem Reap town:

1) See how locals work.
We bumped into a lorry carrying lots of big ice cubes under hot sun =.= They just covered the ice cubes with a canvas. What made us shocked is how they "cut" the ice cubes into smaller size by using a "knife"!

The worker "cut" the ice cube using the "knife" on his hand!

2) Visit The Old Market
Old market, one of the must-go-place when you visit to Siem Reap. Here is the place to widen your mind or eyes where you get to know more about local food and their look before being served on dining table.

Lady and her stall, with lots of preserved meat hanging around...

Try durian from Cambodia is not a bad idea too!

3) Visit night market
The night is always young at Siem Reap town. There are quite a number of night market and handicraft market around the town. We enjoyed loitered around night market, although things sold over are more or less the same but you would still find something interesting over the night.

Handmade bags sold at the market. One good thing about night market at Siem Reap is.... the street is so clean!

4) Visit Pub Street
Beer at Siem Reap is cheap. So there is no reason not to go for a drink at Pub Street every night LOL. We would recommend you to make a turn around Pub Street in the day time too. Some of the pubs are closed in the day time, but this is the best time for you to have a clear look at the pub, since you can't really see it clearly at night LOL :P

Angkor What, one of the famous pub at Siem Reap, with unique outlook where guests are free to write or draw on the walls!

5) Shopping!
There are few supermarkets around the town like Lucky Mall and Angkor Market, where we did our grocery shopping here :P

Premium unrefined organic brown sugar from Cambodia!

100% coffee powder from Cambodia! Had tried and loved this coffee, that's why we brought back 3 packs!

Haha, loved this too...but we can't bring back this one...

6) Send a postcard.
Send a postcard to your family or friend, this would be a great souvenir too! It is easy to get a postcard at Siem Reap and postage fee to Malaysia is 1USD.

Cambodia Post :)

Yellow mail box!

7) Eating!

Here comes the end of our Siem Reap post :) Hope that our experience helps you in planning your coming trip to Siem Reap or made you felt like wana explore Siem Reap immediately LOL :P

This is my second visit to Siem Reap, the first was during year 2012. I know that I would be back and here I am :) The place never fail to amaze me, even though I went to the same temple for second time in my life :)

So...Don't think, Just GO! Siem Reap welcomes you :)
