River Kwai - Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum
After River Kwai International Half Marathon, we had a short nap in our hotel. In the evening, we hopped onto our rented motorbike and departing to one of the must-visit place in River Kwai, which is Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum.
It is quite easy to go to Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum, since there is only one main road in River Kwai, just a straight road and there is signboard directs you there.
Found this special place while on the way to Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum.
Runners of River Kwai International Half Marathon run past this place in the morning too.
It is actually a pond overlooking mountain valleys!
Signboard along the road.
FromWikipedia:
Hellfire Pass is known as "Konyu Cutting" in Japanese. It is the name of a railway cutting on the former Burma Death Railway in Thailand which was built by forced labours and Allied prisoners of war during World War II.
The museum was built and maintained by the Australian government. It is located just above the Hellfire Pass (Konyu Cutting). The museum is dedicated to the Allied prisoners of war and Asian labourers who suffered and died at Hellfire Pass and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region during World War II.
