Pangkor Day 2 - Pantai Pasir Bogak!
Morning
Pangkor! Wake up in small rain and the rain stopped after our breakfast! Lucky
us! Started our journey exploring Pangkor Island with our rented Proton Saga!
The pink van! In case you don't feel like driving yourself, you can always look for the pink van to fetch you to your destination! The pink van is just like a taxi and it can be found almost everywhere on the island!
Mural on the wall in SPK town.
So creative!
Road in
Pangkor is just simple and straight forward. It should be very hard to get lost
on this island if you followed the proper road :P From SPK, we followed the
main road, passed by a garbage furnace and reached Pantai Teluk Dalam which
located next to Pangkor Island Airport! Yes, there is a small airport here!
The beach
is calm and less crowded compared to Pantai Pasir Bogak. Perfect spot for
picnic!
Our next
stop is Lin Je Kong, which is a temple situated at the edge of Coral Bay and
facing the sea! We did not do any praying here but we did snap quite a lot of
photos here! We can even see people from opposite beach swimming and struggling
on banana boat!
Welcomed by Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse!
Then we
drove to the ruins of Dutch Fort before having our lunch at Pangkor town! We
almost made a complete round of the island!
Part of the ruins of Dutch Fort.
The ruins of Dutch Fort on Pangkor Island are the remnants of an outpost of Dutch attempts to control trade in the Malay Peninsula. The fort was built by the Dutch in 1670 for storage and protection of tin supplies from the sultanate of Perak.
The green
carpet and the sea in front made this place so photogenic!
Drying Mee Sua along the street!
In the
evening, we are ready for the beach! Off to Pantai Pasir Bogak again and we
rented a speed boat for island hopping plus snorkeling trip! The boat rental is
around RM120 while snorkeling set rental is RM10 per set.
Off we go!
The speed boat driver was like very rush and run out of time! We felt like
sitting on a roller coaster on sea with super strong wave! The boat driver
showed us some animal look-alike rocks before dropping us at the snorkeling
spot.
Turtle
rock! This one really looked alike!
Whale rock!
So coincidentally there is a small tree on the whale’s blow hole!
After that,
the boat driver dropped us at Giam Island and left us there… thought that he
supposed to be there to look after us?! Anyhow, we were not alone since there
were another 2 groups of tourists there without their guides.
Snorkeling
at Giam Island is not fun at all! There are rocks around which is full with
sharp shell creatures! Some more the wave is quite strong that evening… ended
up having some scratches on our hands and legs.
The other side of Giam Island.
We called
our boat driver to pick us up and the last pit-stop of the island hopping trip
is the famous Pangkor Laut Resort! The boat driver made a turn under the luxury
water chalets and let us had a closer look on the private island! So close yet
so far... Of course we were not landing on the island since it is only for its
residents.

After that,
back to Pantai Pasir Bogak. We had some time dipping in the sea, biting on some
snacks while watching the sun hiding back into the horizon line. What a day!
Dinner
time! We had seafood dinner at Gao Lao Seafood Restaurant which is just near to
Pantai Pasir Bogak! The food is nice but no photo at all since was too hungry!
We had been waited for more than 1hour for our dinner! Luckily the food was
nice so worth it lol and the price is reasonable, can be said cheap if compared
with KL’s price!
