Pattaya - Pattaya Beach, Wat Phra Yai

This is the last post for our 8d7n Bangkok & Pattaya trip. For full itinerary, please click HERE.

Hello Pattaya! During the last 3 days of our Thailand trip, we decided to get out from Bangkok city and travel to Pattaya! Sunshine, beach, we are coming!

We chose the easiest and fastest way to get to Pattaya from Bangkok, a van which can fit 8 of us and all our belongings! The fare is 2500Baht, around 2 hours journey.

Generally, Pattaya is divided into 2 beachfront sections which are Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach area. Pattaya beach is located along Beach Road with lots of restaurant, bars and shopping malls. Jomtien Beach is famous with high-raise condominium and luxury hotels. During our short stay at Pattaya, we only covered Pattaya Beach area.

Hilton Hotel, where the lower floor houses a shopping mall.

Hunt for sea view property?!

One good thing about staying at Pattaya is there are a lot of hotels located within walking distance to the beach! Well, there are lots of stalls along the beach which meant lots of street food awaiting us!

Ice cream! So cute!

Kebab!

Looked normal, but taste like heaven lol :P

So what we did at Pattaya was temple hopping in the morning, rest in the hotel to hide from burning sun (typical Asian) in the afternoon, playing around at the beach in the evening and loiter around the busy street at night!

Wat Phra Yai

The temple situated on top of Pratumnak Hill, which is between Pattaya and Jomtien beach. Wat Phra Yai is well-known with beautiful seaview from top of the hill and an 18m tall Buddha.

Entrance: Free

The big Buddha.

Remember to ring the line of bells with big stick provided over there which is believed that would bring good luck to those who completed the “task”.

Top of Pratumnak Hill.

Tips: For those who would like to cover both Bangkok and Pattaya, you may fly to Bangkok from KL, and back to KL from Pattaya, or vice versa. AirAsia fly to Pattaya now!

Transportation: There are a lot of tuk tuk moving around Pattaya town, so it is actually very convenient to move around. Unlike Bangkok, tuk tuk here is bigger in size since they are modified from lorry.

Bye Pattaya~
Here, we waved goodbye to our 8d7n Bangkok, Pattaya family trip :)
Till we meet again~~
