Second visit to Bukit Kutu (March 2016)

I had my second visit to Bukit Kutu on 5 March 2016. It was also the day for KubUltra trail run in the morning. We reached the hiking spot at 830am and there were many cars parked along the road. Guess Saturday is always a good day to start something exciting. We had the very first trip to Kutu back in June last year, please click here for the post. This time, I had one 1.5l water, two 500ml 100plus drinks, packed lunch, two breads and few Snickers in my backpack. At the end of hike, we consumed all the fluids, with only the breads and Snickers left. We started the hike at 9am and reach the Batu Tedung Checkpoint at 1030am. After 10-mins break and taking photos around with the incredibly huge boulders, we proceed to the chimney area where the Kutu summit is just close by. Ascending... Batu Tedung Checkpoint. Finally, we reached the summit at 12pm. We took few climbs further to the viewing point using the ladders. According to site information , the panoramic vi

Everyone knows that completing a 42.195 km full marathon isn’t an easy feat. To go beyond the distance, I have decided to participate in the Route 68 challenge 50 km category. This April 2016, it is the second edition of the challenge. Considering myself as a newbie to the ultramarathon, we decided to reach to the race site as early as 5am using the bus service arranged by organizer. To prepare myself in endurance running, I have engaged myself in functional training classes (by Country Club Fitness ) and do hiking / running around KL parks at least three days weekly. The race venue on 10 April 2016 Mandatory item (blinker, mobile, hydration belt and headlamp) display (and reflective vest) Back at the race site, after performing our mandatory item check, the 50 km category race flagged off at 7am. For safety purpose, we runners had to keep the blinkers and headlamp on, together with the reflective vest put on in the first hour of race. At First 10 km, we passed by two

What to eat in Bangkok? Haha, dessert from After You is a must for me :P What else? Seafood at Chinatown? Chicken rice at Pratunam ? Papaya salad at Som Tam Nua? Too mainstream for you?! Let’s try this! Prawn meat ball noodle at Ding Cai Fatt!( 丁财发虾丸面 ). 丁财发   is a small shop hidden in a corner of Bangkok :P We spent some time walking on the unknown path before we able to reach there. Thanks to its popularity among locals, we managed to reach the hidden restaurant after guidance given by random passer-by :P The restaurant! Image from Google Street View is closed LOL :P  丁财发虾丸面! 丁财发虾丸面 located some where around Sukhumvit 62. It is a simple restaurant, where everyone there can hardly speak English. The only menu is full with Thai words that we can’t understand. However, everyone there is being so nice and patient with us, we ended up managed to place our order using body language :P The menu! Our noodles with the signature prawn
