Taiwan - 1600 Pandas World Tour – TaiPei (1600 熊猫世界之旅–台北)

On the last day of our Taiwan trip, we went for PANDA! 1600 Pandas World Tour – TaiPei (1600   熊猫世界之旅   –   台北 ) was first being exhibited in France on year 2008 in collaboration of WWF 35 th  Anniversary of establishment in France. In order to create awareness of protecting wild animal, WWF worked together with a French artist, Paulo Grangeon to have a paper panda exhibition, named after “Pandas on Tour”. The first paper panda exhibition was held at Eiffel Tower, Paris. Due to the over whelming response, “Pandas on Tour” started its journey in Europe where the exhibition was held at more than 30 main cities in Europe. There are total 1600 paper pandas being exhibited where this figure represents remaining wild pandas in the world. For “Pandas on Tour” – TaiPei station, there are additional 200 paper Taiwan black bears being exhibited in order to create awareness of Taiwan black bear conservation issue in amon

Taiwan - Jenn Lann Temple (镇澜宫) & DaJia Old Street (大甲老街)

Click Here for full itinerary. After staying a night at FengJia (逢甲) , we moved north back to Taipei ( 台北 ) by train. We stopped by at DaJia ( 大甲 ) before reaching TaiPei to hunt for some food and loiter around. Information board showing direction to Jenn Lann Temple ( 镇澜宫 ) at the exit of DaJia railway station. This temple considered is the biggest attraction of this small town with only around 5minutes walk from the railway station. Jenn Lann Temple ( 镇澜宫 ) was built over 200 years ago which attracts thousands of worshippers to come to pay respect to Mazu ( 妈祖 ), known as the chief of all goddess. This is the most famous Mazu temples in Taiwan, because of its age and also its beautiful cravings around the temple. Jenn Lann Temple ( 镇澜宫 ) during day time. Welcomed by the warm sun. 2 days 1 night spent at TaiChung was the “hottest” weather we ever experienced during our Taiwan trip, made us felt reluctant to go back to freaking cold TaiPei!   TaiChung Station. Talked about TaiChung, many would think of the yummy Sun Biscuits! There are so many different bakery shops along the main street selling freshly baked sun biscuits under their individual brands. Taiwan - AliShan Forest Recreation Area (阿里山国家森林游乐区)

Click Here for full itinerary. AliShan ( 阿里山 ) situated in the Mount Jade ( 玉山 ) range with elevation 2170m above sea level. It is well-known with its forest, railway, sea of clouds, sunrise and sunset. AliShan railway is one of the only three mountain railways in the world! We felt so excited to be able to hop onto it! AT the main entrance of AliShan Forest Recreation Area ( 阿里山国家森林游乐区 ), temperature during that morning was only 9°C! We kept walking and jumping around to keep our body warm since we were underdressed! Forest railway – AliShan station ( 森林铁路 - 阿里山车站 ) The railway station is so beautiful! Even the ceiling is made of woods! The best thing was… we felt warmer here! There are 4 stations here, which are AliShan station ( 阿里山站 ), ChaoPing station ( 沼平站 ), Sacred Tree station ( 神木站 ) and JhuShan station ( 祝山站 ).
