Sabah - Pulau Sapi @ Tunku Abdul Rahman Park
A trip to
Kota Kinabalu is not complete without island hopping, Tunku Abdul Rahman National
Park is one of the must visit attraction when you travel to Sabah.
Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park comprises of 5 islands which are Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulak Mamutik and Pulau Sulug. All these 5 islands located between 3km to 8km from Kota Kinabalu.
After
breakfast, we departed to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal, which is the ferry
terminal heading to islands in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. At the ferry terminal,
there are around 10 travel agencies offering similar types of island hopping
package to tourists. Everyone shouting at price lower than next door, just like
pasar malam lol.
Generally,
the package offered is similar among all travel agencies, which are ferry rate
for adults or children, for 1 island or 2 islands or even 3 islands and also
rental fee for snorkeling equipment.
Famous islands among tourists are Pulau
Sapi, Pulau Manukan and Pulau Mamutik.
After
comparing 2 or 3 different travel agencies, we decided to choose this!
Displayed price is slightly higher than actual offered price. Try your best to
bargain the price! We got the best offered price which is RM198 for 5 adults
covering Pulau Sapi and Pulau Manukan as well as 4 sets of snorkeling equipment
rental charge! Cheapest in town! Don’t think places like Redang Island can
offer this price!
We chose
package covering 2 islands which are Pulau Sapi and Pulau Manukan. Prior to our
departure, we need to confirm departing time and returning time with the agent,
as well as the time to transfer us from Pulau Sapi to Pulau Manukan.
While
waiting for the ferry at Jesselton Ferry Terminal.
After
around half an hour, we arrived safely at Pulau Sapi. Upon arrival, we need to
pay Sabah Parks conservation fee at the island entrance counter.
View from
the jetty!
The map.
Totally in
love with the greenish crystal clear water!
After some
simple briefing by our guide, we are ready to get wet!
The water
is so clear and there are lots of tropical fish! Can even touch them!
Spotted a
group of future divers having their diving training.
The other side of the island where water depth is deeper and wave is stronger.
Green and greener!
Spotted a
dead fish :(
Had much
fun time at Pulau Sapi! After around 3hours, we met with our guide again at the jetty
and left reluctantly.
The way to
jetty.
The water
is so clear! Spotted some fishes swimming in the water when walking to the
jetty.
Bye bye, the beautiful Pulau Sapi.
No, not
yet! We are not going back to the main land yet, we are departing to Pulau Manukan!
Stay tune!
