Sabah - Poring Hot Spring - Canopy Walkway

After Kundasang War Memorial, we headed to Poring Hot Spring at Ranau. Poring Hot Spring is part of the Kinabalu Park, approximately 40minutes drive from Kundasang War Memorial.

There are 3 circuits of canopy walkways with a total length of 373.6metres and a height of up to 41metres depending on the slope of the land below. The walkway is opened to the public since May 1990. The first circuit is in a "Y" shape, with total length of 157.6metres.

Main attraction here is hot spring with sulphuric minerals as well as the famous Canopy Walkway!

There are other attractions like butterfly farm, Orchid garden and etc. (Click to enlarge).

Once we reached there, we proceed to the ticket counter to pay the park conservation fee where a ticket/ receipt would be given as prove of payment.

Crossed a river and started our journey!

With the ticket, you can enter the park and enjoy foot soaking at public outdoor bath tubs filled with hot spring water. We decided to walk further down to the ticket booth for Canopy Walkway first.

Yes, you need another entrance ticket for the Canopy Walkway. Camera charges applied here too!

From the entrance of Canopy Walkway, we walked around 20minutes before we reached the suspension bridge.

Remember to look up for this awesome view! So now you know how this place gained its name?

Maximum 6 persons at one time!

Walking on the suspension bridge is fun and quite scary when it swings around lol.

After exit from the Canopy Walkway, we followed the signboard and walk further down to Kipungit Waterfall, which is only 400metres from the Canopy Walkway.

There is another waterfall, which is Langanan Waterfall, 3450metres away.

The opposite direction is going back to the hot spring.

After around 20minutes, we saw this signboard upon reaching Kipungit Waterfall.

The waterfall is small and clean, some enjoy themselves in the chilling water while we enjoy our foot soaking session.

Natural fish spa! These tiny fishes bite away dead skin from your skin. Remind me the prawn spa we had in Chagar Hutang.

There is a small path beside Kipungit Waterfall, which directs you to Langanan Waterfall and Bat Cave.

Bat Cave is 625metres away while Langanan Waterfall is 3315metres away. Be well-prepared and be early if want to challenge Langanan Waterfall!

We did not go for Langanan Waterfall but decided to walk back to the hot spring.

Source of the hot spring.

 General foot soaking area.

There are 2 tabs on the bath tub, one is cool water while the other one is hot spring water. So you can adjust the water temperature by yourself.

There are few types of bath tubs here, some is just enough for foot soaking while some is deep enough for you to immerse your whole body inside lol.

In case you prefer cool water instead of hot spring water, there is one Rock Pool here, with cold water. No additional ticket required for this.

For those who prefer to enjoy the hot spring with more privacy, there is enclosed bath tub too! Besides, there is a slide pool for kids! Both require additional charges.

We spent some time soaking our legs in the hot spring (since already paid lol) before departing back to Kota Kinabalu.

Poring Hot Spring is a place worth to pay a visit, it is a good place for you to explore the Mother Nature, admire the beauty of canopy and having hot spring experience.

Maybe it would be a great idea to spend a night here surrounded by green lush.

Recommendation: Wear covered shoes (sport shoes, trekking shoes etc.) for jungle trekking and bring along sandals for hot spring session.

After that, it's time to go back KK town. Traffic condition in KK town is comparable with KL during after work hours!

Had our dinner at Upper Star Café and Bar. The café environment is good, well-decorated with themes and there is a computer at dining table for you to online.

Well-decorated surrounding.
Some of the food we ordered. From top left: black pepper lamb chop, lamb chop with mushroom sauce, fish and chip and grilled salmon. The food is average, nothing to shout about though.

Out of expectation, this chicken stick tastes very good! Grilled chicken with green bell pepper, juiciness of the chicken is locked even after grilled!

It's time to call it a day! A very well-spent day :)
