Taiwan - JinGuaShi Gold Ecological Park (金瓜石黄金博物园区)

After the super satisfied breakfast, we are heading to JiuFen (九份) !!!

Bus 1061, the bus we took.

There are quite a lot of people taking the same bus with us although it was a Monday morning and around half of them are Japanese.

Recommendation: Try to avoid going to JiuFen during weekends since the place is normally crowded during weekends with local and foreign tourists flocked in. Choose normal weekdays where you got to enjoy walking around this peaceful small town.

We spent around one hour travelling from TaiPei to JiuFen and we get down from the bus at JiuFen Old Street. Found our guest house and checked in!

Since it was still early, the guest house owner suggest us to pay a visit to JinGuaShi Gold Ecological Park (金瓜石黄金博物园区). We took a mini bus outside of the guest house and within half an hour we reached the gold ecological park! Here is used to be a gold mine developed during the Japanese occupation period and the mine was closed in year 1990. Now it turned into an ecological park!

It was raining slightly when we were there that evening but didn’t manage to stop us from having fun!

This is a police station! Trust me, the prettiest police station I ever see before!

We followed the walking path and reached a Japanese garden. There are few rooms here where they used to be the Crown Prince’s bedroom, study room and etc.

A very peaceful place indeed! We even spotted couples having their pre-wedding photo shooting here! Too bad the weather is not too good that day.

When I saw this I was so excited! Not because of the poisonous snake & bee signboard of course…is because of the little hidden signboard on the bottom right…written there “SAKURA TRAIL” !!!

Climbed up until the end of the staircases and this is right in front of our eyes!

Few blossoms are enough to make my day! Never expect there is Sakura here!

Last one before we headed to the Gold Museum.

Gold museum is situated right after the Sakura Trail!

The gold mine operation of previous year was well presented in miniature size.

Highlight of the museum!!! The GOLD block!! Friendly staff in the museum welcomed us to touch it, take photo with it but not allowed to bring it home lol.

The sky is turning dark and getting more and more misty.

Treat ourselves a hot ginger tau fu fa with peanuts before we called it a day :)

How to go:

TaiPei – JiuFen

Exit at MRT ZhongXiao FuXing (忠孝復興) station. Walk to FuXing South Road (復興南路) bus stop. Take KeeLung-RuiFang (基隆-瑞芳) bus.

JiuFen – JinGuaShi

There are lots of mini bus at JiuFen town that can bring you there! Until the main gate of the Gold Ecological Park. Just ask the bus driver to double confirm :)
