Penang - Mural & Cendol!
Day 2 at
Penang, after breakfast, we started our mural hunt around Georgetown! Another
advantage of staying at Armenian Street Heritage Hotel at Lebuh Carnovan is
there are quite a number of breakfast choices around, within walking distance
of course!
We got a
free map from Ming Xiang Tai and we just followed it.
By the way, traditional
pastry from Ming Xiang Tai is so good! Siew Pao, egg yolk tart, chicken
tart…all are so nice!
Mural which
tells the shop’s story, just in front of Ming Xiang Tai!
Kopitiam!
Cat lovers
gonna love Penang very much.
Meow~
There are
quite a number of cats here, well, there is giant mouse over here too.
Bump into
an owl museum or collection store where we were impressed by creativity of the
maker.
After that...lunch time!!! :P
This is not
an exaggerated way to say that a trip to Penang is not complete without asam
laksa and cendol! When think of cendol, think of Penang Road!
Teo Chew
cendol at Penang Road can be said is the best cendol in town, or even in the
whole Malaysia! It is a small stall along the road beside a kopitiam, which is
easy to be spotted since there is always a queue there!
We reached there in a rainy day and a queue awaiting us in front…thought that no people would be crazy like us to have iced cendol in rain…haha, proved that we are so wrong! However, the queue is moving fast! Salute to all the workers there, their motion is so fast!
Queuing..
Pua Chu Kang also said nice~ Haha!
Ta da~ Proudly present... The BEST Penang Road cendol!!!!
One cendol
costs RM2.30 for dine-in while RM2.50 for take-away. Most people would choose
to enjoy the cendol along the street, under the sun or rain. However, you can
choose to enjoy the cendol inside the kopitiam, with an additional service
charge of RM0.50 for EACH cendol by the kopitiam owner (although you ordered
drinks and food from the kopitiam).
Not to
forget about Asam Laksa as well as Char Kuey Tiew which are available in the
kopitiam! The Asam laksa is so nice with appropriate spicy and sour level!
Craving for it now… @.@
Slurrp~~ Asam Laksa!!!
The not-to-be-missed chay keuy tiew!
