Penang - Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera)

Penang Hill, or more commonly being known as Bukit Bendera is one of the tourist spot at Penang, especially after it re-opened to public on year 2012, after the train system upgrading work.

Penang Hill, since year 1923.

During our last visit to Penang island, we went to Penang Hill, just to experience the train! The train ticket is not cheap, where both-way ticket for adult costs RM10 for Mykad holder. For more info about the ticket price, click HERE.

After that, we queued and waited for the train. When the train arrived, the condition was like “lost control” since the in-charge worker would open the gate and “urged” the first 50 to 60 persons to enter the platform and embark the coach (choose yourself which coach you like in that few seconds LOL).

There are 2 types of ticket, one is normal ticket while the other one is fast lane ticket (double up the price). The tickets we bought are normal ticket, so I not sure whether fast lane ticket’s condition would be better or not LOL.

The train journey is quite short, we reached the Hill Top Station in less than 10minutes time. At the time we reached the peak, it starts raining cats and dogs =.= we spent some time for snacks at the food centre while waiting for the rain to stop.

712m above sea level. upon reaching the Hill Top Station.

The train & the railway :)

At the view deck with rain and mist :P If the weather is good, you can view George Town city from here!

Love Lock at Penang Hill! Found it at the viewing deck on top of the food centre!

Only if the weather is good…if not we can join the natural walk, can have some tourist shoots with the old train and post box at 820metres above sea level and etc…

Anyway, we did enjoy ourselves up there, despite the rain. I believed that it is the only place you can look for chilled breeze at Penang LOL.

Browsed through the official website of Penang Hill and fall in love with it! The webpage is so cute!

By the way, they are having special deal for couples on Valentine’s day and there is Chinese New Year Celebration on 21st February 2015 (Saturday)!

They are having 2nd Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge on 22nd March 2015 (Sunday)! The registration is opened to public and the registration fee for Malaysian is only RM30. After checking the full map of the whole track, I felt like going LOL. This would be the best way to explore Penang Hill where hidden gems of Penang Hill which normally tourist won't pay attention to would be reveal throughout the track!

Oh, for owl lover, there is an owl museum up there too!
