Kuching - Bau - Tasik Biru & Pekan Bau

Bau, a small town around 1 hour drive from Kuching. From Kuching, we travelled to Bau and stopped by Tasik Biru as well as Pekan Bau for lunch while we are on the way to Wind Cave & Fairy Cave.

Bau was used to be a gold mining town in Sarawak. Never heard about this small town?? Well, Bau is Malaysia famous diving athlete, Pandelela Rinong's hometown!

We travelled to Bau using the rented motorbike. One good thing travelling using motorbike is it is so easy to stop anywhere you like :P Ok, provided that it is safe :)

At a random stop while on the way to Bau.
Don't you think here looked like a mini Pinnacles? :P

Heading to Tasik Biru :)
Don't worry about getting lost, the place is small and sign boards are adequate to bring you there.

Spot the golden chair!

Tasik Biru (Blue Lake).

It was a sunny day when we were there.
By the way, this lake is actually a man-made lake, due to previous gold mining activity.

Wave goodbye to Tasik Biru and we went for lunch!

Oh ya, Kueh chap (herbal soup cooked with pork visceral) is not a bad choice too.

Landmark at Pekan Bau.
Statue showing gold mining activity in previous years.

The statue is quite old and lack of maintenance...quite sad to see this.

Managed to spend some time loitered around local's wet market too!
Spot the giant yam!

Unknown fruit, which is coated with a layer of snake-skin-looked-alike skin LOL:P

After spending some time around Tasik Biru and Bau town, is it time to head to Wind Cave as well as Fairy Cave!

Stay tune for our next post on the famous Wind Cave & Fairy Cave!

Well....bad thing about travelling on motorbike is R.A.I.N. !!!!
Is OK, we can always stopped by somewhere else and play with our camera LOL :P

Ciao~
