Hello TaiChung (台中)! Welcomed by the warm sun. 2 days 1 night spent at TaiChung was the “hottest” weather we ever experienced during our Taiwan trip, made us felt reluctant to go back to freaking cold TaiPei!

TaiChung Station.
Talked about TaiChung, many would think of the yummy Sun Biscuits! There are so many different bakery shops along the main street selling freshly baked sun biscuits under their individual brands. Free tasting are welcomed! Some even served you hot tea lol.
Sun biscuits street!
FengJia
University (逢甲大学)! Yes, we were at FengJia (逢甲) night market which is just beside
this university.
Top 3 food
that you should not miss at FengJia night market (逢甲夜市)!
1. Bread
with fried noodles (炒面面包)
Ok, the
name is quite weird, the combination as well. However, this is the most highly
recommended food to try at FengJia night market from Kanghuekia! :P
A little
store – DaSheng bread with fried noodles (大胜炒面面包)
The queue!
We queued around 45minutes for this!
This tiny
store is so famous! It was interviewed by many TV crews before.
FINALLY!!!!
Our 炒面面包!! Plastic hand gloves provided so that you would not make your hands
dirty accidentally. So good!
Fresh from
the wok! Freshly fried noodles served in the middle of a bread. Everything
looked so simple but the aroma and taste told you that they are incredibly
amazing combination! Felt like my taste bud was dancing joyfully after every
bite!
There are
total 6 flavours for you to choose. The bread is same, only different is the
noodles. After you made your order, the worker would prepare the fried noodles
as per your choice. The fried noodles was prepared on the spot after your order
so it was still hot when reached your hands!
We chose
Japanese style since 炒面面包 was originated from Japan! :P There are other flavours like cheese,
curry, Thai style, Italian style and American black pepper style!
2. Papaya
milk (北回木瓜牛奶)
Fruit juice
is quite common in Taiwan night market but this papaya milk is worth to be given
a seat under “highly recommended F&B list” :P
Papaya
lover would never get enough of this! Fresh papaya blended into juice together
with some milk and ice! The texture is so rich with papaya meat inside, not too
watery, perfect!
3. Little
sausage in big sausage (大肠包小肠 - 官芝霖)
Little
sausage is Taiwanese pork sausage while big sausage is “sausage” made of rice.
The little pork sausage is being wrapped by the big rice sausage together with
some sauce and veges.
This little
store is very popular in FengJia night market. The owner opened another branch
nearby the original store just to fight the crowds.
Several
flavours to choose at. We go for the original flavor which consist of peanut
powder, fried egg with dried radish, sauerkraut (fermented finely chopped
cabbage), cucumber slice and ginger slice.
Maybe
because I am not a big fans of Taiwanese pork sausage, I found this claimed to
be the must eat food at FengJia night market so so only, but the rice sausage
tastes so good! The rice sausage is crispy at the external part and soft in the
internal part! I think it had gone through a quick roast!
There are
so many to shop and to eat at FengJia night market! Being surrounded by
students from the nearby university made us felt younger :P Remember to stop by
this happening night market when you visit to TaiChung!
Ciao~
How to go:
From
TaiChung railway station, take any bus that would stop by FengJia University
area.
