1600 Pandas World Tour – TaiPei
(1600 熊猫世界之旅 – 台北) was first being exhibited in
France on year 2008 in collaboration of WWF 35th Anniversary of
establishment in France. In order to
create awareness of protecting wild animal, WWF worked together with a French
artist, Paulo Grangeon to have a paper panda exhibition, named after “Pandas on
Tour”. The first paper panda exhibition was held at Eiffel Tower, Paris. Due to
the over whelming response, “Pandas on Tour” started its journey in Europe
where the exhibition was held at more than 30 main cities in Europe.
There are
total 1600 paper pandas being exhibited where this figure represents remaining
wild pandas in the world. For “Pandas on Tour” – TaiPei station, there are
additional 200 paper Taiwan black bears being exhibited in order to create
awareness of Taiwan black bear conservation issue in among Taiwan citizens.
All paper
pandas being exhibited are the only one in the world since every paper panda is
100% handmade using pieces of paper and the panda face is being drawn one by
one too! The paper craving art is 100% environmental friendly where recycled
paper is used as raw material and the glue used is made naturally from rice.

Although
“Pandas on Tour” had ended its tour at TaiPei, who knows where is its next
destination. Maybe Malaysia? Since recently panda fever is quite hot in
Malaysia lol.

Reached our
destination! “Pandas on Tour” was held at TaiPei New City Hall (台北市政府).
It was a
raining and gloomy day at TaiPei.

are some booths selling souvenirs and there are free gifts too! People queuing
for free paper file with cute panda painting on it lol!
Had
so much fun at “Pandas on Tour” exhibition, pandas are just too cute to extinct
from the earth.
